Mural Paintings Beautify Spots in Koja Area

A number of spots in Koja Urban Village area, Koja, North Jakarta are decorated with a mural paintings with the caption tagline, Koja and Jakarta Collaboration.

Koja Urban Village Head, Frimelda Novitara said, besides adding to the beauty or aesthetics, it is also a reminder that Jakarta is a city of collaboration.

"With the writing of Jakarta Collaboration as our reminder that in handling anything, including development, we must collaborate with each other," she expressed, Tuesday (6/1).

Panggang Island Main Pier Walls Beautified

She explained there were four locations in Koja that were decorated with the same mural. They were Jalan Sindang RW 09 with three meters length and two meters height, in the courtyard of the Koja Urban Village Office with 2.2 meters length and 1.18 meters height.

"Then on Jalan Deli RW 07 with 12 meters length and 2.1 meters height. Around the location, we also plan to build a sidewalk on the street and plant ornamental plants," he added.

The next location was on Jalan Yos Sudarso RW 02 with two meters length and 1.4 meters height.

"As for Jalan Yos Sudarso RW 02, mural is made on six pillars of the Koja Timur Toll Road that crosses the area. So far we have completed four. We also paint them with a logo of Jakarta's 494th anniversary," she expressed

She added this action got positive response from local RT/RW caretakers and residents.

"They support it. To paint mural, we involve PPSU personnel, we work together," she said.
